Friends of Uplift
Friends of Uplift is a non-profit organization made up of parents, alumni, and local community members that support the mission and vision of Uplift Community High School. Our main focus is facilitating fundraising efforts to help improve the student experience and create more educational opportunities.

At Uplift, students are offered both advanced placement and dual credit classes. AP classes allow students to earn college credit while still in high school, which means they can graduate with less debt and finish their degree faster. Dual credit classes are also a great way to earn college credit, and they can help students get a head start on their college career.
Uplift boasts a diverse community demographic of being 58.3% Black, 24.0% Hispanic, 8.3% Asian, and 9.4% Caucasian. Students at Uplift come from neighborhoods all across the city, with 75% of families of low income households, 53% diverse learners, and 20% are limited English learners.
Uplift is a school without attendance boundaries, offering a robust high school experience for students from all over Chicago.
Primarily through fundraising efforts, Friends of Uplift works to support the students, teachers, and staff of Uplift Community High School by investing in:
We help to create the best learning environment for the students and staff of Uplift. We have helped secure funding to renovate the landscaping and exterior grounds of the school. We are also funding the buildout of an environmental sustainability classroom.
We assist with advertising and getting the word out about Uplift. We provide resources so students and parents can learn about all that Uplift has to offer.
We support parents of Uplift students and provide opportunities for them to get together and build stronger community with one another.
We provide opportunities for students to enhance their current education experience and also explore possibilities for furthering their education or whatever their next steps after high school might be.
We invest in the teachers and staff of Uplift to thank them for all they do and to encourage them in their work.
We help create a more robust STEAM education for students by providing extra learning opportunities for students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math.
